Expectation vs. Reality

Much has been written about travel expectations and how these expectations are far from what the reality is. Some people points the blame to photo editors like photoshop, or even the simple photo filter apps. On the other hand, some people do not mind looking at edited photos as these, in fact, entices them even more to pursue with their travel goals.

The question now is, do these photo editors or filters really put one’s expectations far from reality? Let the debate begin!

Proposition: Let it be resolved that photo editors or filters be banned!

AFFIRMATIVE SIDE – with photo editors or filters, travel expectations will never match up to reality.  For them, this would make people rethink their vacations. In support of their argument, the affirmative side presents four sets of photo exhibits (photo credits: “Travel Expectations vs. Reality,” by Viktorija G., http://www.boredpanda.com).

NEGATIVE SIDE – assuming for the sake of argument that there is a probability that travel expectations could be different from reality, this side of the bench strongly argues that, there is likewise a probability that reality could very well match up to one’s travel expectations.  And if photo editors or filters are effective ways to entice people to travel, then there is no reason why they should be banned. In support of their argument, the negative side wish to present, likewise, four sets of photo exhibits, showing how reality could probably turn out to be different from that of one’s expectations, but at the same time, showing that a traveler, in all reality, could actually achieve his travel expectations!
